Connecting You with Artists and Artisans

Connecting You with Artists and Artisans

Congratulations! You completed the new build, renovation, or move-in, organized all the things, and yet, the finishing touches are desperately needed to make the space come alive. Does your art feel uninspiring or is your decor stagnant? Are you ready for a change? We help clients parse durable from disposable investments, and structure collections while maintaining the memories that are most meaningful to them.

We connect you with art and artisans from around the world by curating selections for your specific project because we know it can be difficult to find the time to discover unique pieces that resonate meaningfully with you.

Art Consulting

I started my design consulting business because I love the process of discovery- unveiling underlying meaning and opportunity, researching options first-hand and online, and providing novel solutions for my clients, enabling them to experience expressive interiors for years to come.

Art, sculpture, and craft bring energy and the human story to a space. We celebrate the unique perspectives of artists and artisans because we know the time-intensive act of bringing experience and thought-to-surface, enriches our lives.

We’re different than other art consultants

Whether artisans are adapting ancient techniques to new designs or ancient designs to new applications, unless they are tied to an institution that helps manage their career, it can be difficult for them to compete in an evermore efficient global production system.  They may not know how to increase awareness to expand their opportunities internationally.

We seek to facilitate this awareness and collaborate with artists, artisans, dealers/retail owners to spur art and design development and referral. That’s why we view our design consulting business as a knowledge service: We provide access to information and expertise, driven by the desire to connect people who view arts and culture as central to their lives, who want to meet creatives and learn about studios where they can source something truly unique, cutting edge, or impeccably made.

Trend Alerts

Our “Trend Alerts” come in multiple forms:

Destination Guides

Provide destination and location-specific guides that map the best-of-the-best art and notable artisan works as well as some of the best places to replenish during or after a wonderful day on the quest.

Meet the Artist Events

Events such as “Meet the Artist” or “Artisan Expertise: How they did it…” enable virtual or small group experiences first-hand, for sharing in-depth, “insider” knowledge and referrals.

Trend Forecasting

For art and artisan studios, we provide trend analysis enabling them to update or diversify locally relevant colors, textures, and sources of inspiration to meet the evolving interests of art and design enthusiasts.

We seek a win-win connection

We poise both the artist, artisan, and client to benefit from our interior design consulting. Unlike other art consultation business models, our interest is in providing information and access.

For the client and artist or artisan, we curate and make recommendations from our network of contacts. We do not “represent” artists but can put you in touch with the artist directly or their representatives if you would like to purchase a work from them. We are not-go-betweens seeking profit: What you do with that information is up to you to pursue at your own pace, if or when the time is right for you.

For local art and artisan design businesses and business leaders such as art and design subject matter experts and retail outlets, the benefit from this connection seeks to build awareness, strengthen appreciation for and investment in artistry in communities at home and abroad.

But are you qualified as an art advisor?

10 Catalogues on the Artists of Central Asia
10 Catalogues on the Artists of Central Asia

With formal undergraduate studies in fine art and art history and a master’s degree in art education, I rallied private collectors to lend or donate works to establish art galleries in 15+ public schools, where budget cuts limited access to visual art education and ideas. I taught art appreciation in universities, consulted on private university art collections, and led international museum events.

Living in 10+ countries and traveling widely across four continents over 20+ years, I led grants to preserve cultural heritage and established relationships with galleries and artisan studios from Kenya to Kazakhstan, from Indonesia to India, and Mongolia to Patagonia to discover intriguing, extraordinary works (and even wrote ten catalogs on the Artists of Central Asia pictured above).

We love fun too.

So maybe I’m a passionate enthusiast. I can’t promise a track record for return on investment, but I do recognize the emotionally powerful experience art can deliver, have an editorial eye, and hand on the pulse of meaningful expression to enable my client’s access to art, artists, galleries, and retail sources.
